FAQ
The Alternator Charger can charge third-party portable power stations if the following conditions are met:
1. Connected via an XT60 cable.
2. The battery type is configured in the settings.
3. The vehicle battery voltage (12V/24V) is selected based on the actual voltage level of the vehicle battery connected to the EcoFlow Alternator Charger.
4. The portable power station type is selected as a third-party 24V battery.
1. The maximum power is limited to 500W for both the 800W and 500W Alternator Charger when using an XT60 cable.
2. When the portable power station type is set to 48V, the maximum power is 500W. When set to 24V, the maximum power is 360W.
3. The actual charging power depends on the power station's current input capability. The 800W/500W/360W ratings refer to the Alternator Charger's rated output power, but the actual input power is determined by the power station's rated input capacity.
The cable length setting digitally compensates for voltage drop caused by long cable connections to the vehicle battery, ensuring a more accurate voltage display.
Recommendation: Set it based on the actual measured length of the input circuit.
The Alternator Charger uses a boost circuit design, which requires the input voltage to be lower than the output voltage to ensure optimal performance and electrical safety.
The product uses the power generated by the vehicle's alternator. Even if all the electrical devices inside the car are turned off, the alternator still generates power while the vehicle is running. The Alternator Charger harnesses the surplus power generated by the car's alternator and stores it in a portable power station through the charger. The impact on fuel consumption is very minimal.
No drilling is required for the installation. Wiring to the vehicle's front alternator does not require drilling and will not damage the vehicle. Simply route the wiring through the firewall near the driver's seat. The Alternator Charger can also be placed using a no-drill method.
The installation of the Alternator Charger is fairly straightforward, and it is feasible for some users with some hands-on experience to install it themselves. However, it is still recommended to contact professional personnel from related workshops for installation.
Installation advice: When wiring, avoid high temperatures and sharp and friction-prone areas, and securely fasten the cables to avoid cable wear or loose connections caused by cable movement. The Alternator Charger may generate relatively high temperatures, so avoid covering the product. After use, avoid immediate direct contact to prevent the risk of scalds.
The charging power is significantly increased. The charging power of a cigarette lighter is about 100W. In contrast, the Alternator Charger can support charging portable power stations continuously at a high power of 500W while driving, which is 5 times the power of a cigarette lighter.
Technically, the Alternator Charger is not limited by vehicle power sources (fuel, electric, etc.), but it is best suited for fuel-powered vehicles. It is also compatible with hybrid and range-extended vehicles.
The actual charging power depends on the alternator’s surplus power and may fluctuate. Additionally, some older or specialized vehicles with consistently low voltage may not function properly with the Alternator Charger.
According to voltage recognition, the starting voltage is adjustable, and the adjustment range is 11V-30V.
Reverse charging is supported. Please manually switch the working mode in the EcoFlow APP. (Requires XT150 cable and must be used with the EcoFlow DELTA series products.)
RIVER 2 - 2.4 hr
RIVER 2 Pro - 3.6 hr
RIVER 2 Max - 2.5 hr

The Alternator Charger supports an input voltage range of 11V-31V, making it theoretically compatible with vehicles using 12V or 24V starter batteries.
1. Charging Mode: The vehicle's alternator charges the portable power station, while the car battery acts as a load to conduct current.
2. Reverse Charging Mode: The portable power station charges the starter battery or RV house battery with relatively high current. (Requires the XT150 cable and must be used with EcoFlow DELTA Series products.)
3. Battery Maintenance Mode: Similar to reverse charging, but with lower current and a maximum working power of 100W. (Requires the XT150 cable and must be used with EcoFlow DELTA Series products.)
